Frequently Asked Questions

How is TrueGroove different from other swing trainers?

TrueGroove is the only swing trainer available that teaches both swing plane and posture at the same time. The Poly-Glide Plane Rail guides the club along the proper path, while the Power Bar encourages proper posture throughout the swing and provides immediate feedback when posture breaks down.

Can I use graphite shaft clubs with TrueGroove?

The quality and composition of graphite shafts varies. It is possible that some cosmetic wear may occur to the clear coat. We have provided a roll of tape that can be applied to the underside of the shaft for protection. It is also recommended that you occasionally wipe the Poly-Glide Plane Rail with a towel to remove any dust or sand that could scratch the shaft.

What are the dimensions of TrueGroove?

TrueGroove is 73″ wide and 78″ tall. It can be folded to just 6.5″ in depth.

How do I set the Plane Rail for my swing?

To adjust the Plane Rail, loosen the thumb screws on each side of the Plane Rail Arm and slide it to your desired setting. Match the letters on both sides to ensure proper alignment. The letters serve as reference points: A is the most upright position, and H is the flattest position.

Every player has a unique swing plane, and it changes based on the club being used. Shorter clubs are swung on a more upright plane, while longer clubs are swung on a flatter plane. For most players, the swing plane will intersect the upper sternum, which is the recommended starting point when setting the Plane Rail for your practice sessions.

What is the purpose of the Power Bar?

The Power Bar is a horizontal bar positioned at glute level that you maintain contact with throughout your swing. Its primary purpose is to promote and reinforce proper posture at address and through impact.

Good posture is the foundation of a consistent, repeatable swing. The Power Bar gives you a physical reference point to maintain your body’s original angles from setup through the finish. If you lose contact with the bar during your swing, it is a signal that your posture has broken down, whether through early extension or another form of movement away from your original position.

The Power Bar and Plane Rail work in conjunction to train a consistent, powerful swing, giving you simultaneous feedback on both your posture and your swing plane in every practice session.

How much does TrueGroove weigh?

TrueGroove weighs just 22 pounds. The powder-coated aluminum frame makes it completely weatherproof and durable, but also lightweight and easy to move!
